The National Association of Percussion Teachers

The National Association of Percussion Teachers (N.A.P.T.) exists to promote and encourage the continual improvement and attainment of the highest standards of percussion teaching in Great Britain, and to enable the sharing of ideas and information between those who seek knowledge in the furtherance of percussion teaching and performing.

We are pleased to announce a new percussion composition competition, in memory of John Hall - NAPT founder member and much celebrated percussion teacher in Perth, Scotland.

The inaugural competition invites entries from composers of any nationality who are under the age of 21 for an original work for percussion ensemble for four to eight players of grade five to eight standard. The closing date for entries is 1st July 2009.
